The Challenge “Rules”
Complete at least one club run per week for 40 weeks in 2021. This challenge is FREE and prizes will be awarded. We LOVE to see your social media posts and pictures. Post them to our Facebook group, tag us on Instagram @chattahoochee_road_runners, send photos to email@example.com, or upload them to the album on the website.
The goal of this challenge is to run consistently, help you to reach your goals (more miles, faster miles, complete a new race distance), and to have fun!
Registration and Tracking
- Register for the challenge on the events page (crrclub.com).
- Sign up for the week’s run via the Eventbrite link sent in the weekly email.
- Attend the run and log 3 or more miles at any pace. Make sure the run leader checks you in at the start.
- Keep a back up log of your runs in case of any discrepancies in our record keeping. We’re all human. The log should include the location and distance (Garmin, Strava, Nike Run Club, RunGo, RunKeeper, etc).
- If you’d like to compete in the mileage challenge, keep a tally of your CRR runs and submit to Steph.
At the end of the challenge, we will total up your qualifying runs and distribute prizes. Prizes are TBD, but will be runner-friendly (think t-shirts, CRR gear, water bottles, etc)
20-29 runs – bronze level prize
30-39 runs – silver level prize
40+ runs – gold level prize
Additional prizes may be awarded for most miles, most runs, most enthusiastic, most improved, or others.
Q. Which runs count?
A. Any official club run. This can be Saturday Go the Distance, the CRR 5k, or any CRR run listed on our events calendar. External races and events do not count unless otherwise specified.
Q. If I run more than once a week with CRR, can I count all the runs?
A. Only one run per week counts for the 40 weeks (so no, you can’t finish the challenge in 20 weeks if you run twice). But, log all of the runs because they will count for bonus challenges like most mileage and most runs categories.
Q. What if an official run is canceled?
A. If you are registered for a run and we cancel it for weather or other reason, log another run that week and we will count it for your total.
Q. What if I can’t attend every week due to travel, injury, illness, etc.?
A. We have run tiers, so even if you don’t hit the 40-week level, you have a good shot at still getting a prize.
Q. What about the pandemic?
A. We have safety protocols in place and anyone not complying will be asked not to return. However, if you aren’t comfortable with group runs right now, we understand. Email Steph (firstname.lastname@example.org) to discuss alternatives.
Q. Do I have to be a member of the Chattahoochee Road Runners to participate?
A. YES! You must be an active member for the duration of the challenge. Good news - membership is free through June 1 and only $45/year thereafter. Make sure you're in active standing at crrclub.com. For membership issues/questions, contact email@example.com
